Instructor-Led Training? When we were young, we used to call it just “training”. Or “going to school”. But then again, we didn’t have eLearning back then. Or laptops. Or mobile phones. Kids these days have it good…
…and Transgemini LMS users have it even better, with a shiny new release on its way. There will be a new blog post just for that, so stay tuned. In TransGemini LMS we involve our users into group discussion with professionals as well as with our trainers.

As for this post, we’ll be concentrating on the headlining feature: Advantages of Instructor-Led Training
What is Instructor -Led training?
Instructor-Led training refers to lessons held in a traditional classroom-style fashion, but managed within an eLearning platform.
A common case of the “blended learning approach“, instructor-led training can take place in a room, a classroom, an office, a conference room or through video conference (or other interactive real-time means, in which case it’s known as a “webinar”).
Instructor-Led (ILT) Training Advantages
Some of the points below provide the details for advantages of ILT training
1. Ask questions and get immediate answers
One of the biggest advantages of using instructor-led training is it offers the ability to ask questions about what is covered in the lecture, lab, or demonstration. Students are usually encouraged to ask questions. The instructor and fellow students can offer answers based on their valuable experiences.
2. Learn the entire course
When we take a virtual course or read a book on a topic, we typically not go through all the materials. Instead, we would jump to certain points that we thought were important at the time and skip the rest. Taking an ILT course enforces the learning pattern of covering all the materials including the gaps between the different building blocks of the technology area. By understanding all the parts of a technology, it can easily be embraced and utilized much quicker.
3. Learn in a TransGemini classroom, virtually from home/work, or have us onsite
TransGemini offers students various ways to participate in ILT such as here in our classrooms. You can also take our classes virtually from home or at the office – anywhere you have a computer and a strong Internet connection. TransGemini instructors also deliver training onsite at customer locations. Onsite training also saves on employee travel costs and time away from home.
4. Perform Study exercises in a working VM
At TransGemini, students will perform their Study exercises in virtual machines (VMs) that are accessed via a modern web browser. This ensures a consistent learning environment for both classroom and virtual students without the hassle of installing software. As well, the VMs are available to all students from anywhere with Internet access.
5. Network with your fellow students
We are always impressed when we see our students networking with each other. They share some of the problems they’ve overcome and the solutions they implemented. They often share contact information and business cards. The classroom evolves into a team learning experience.
6. Consider our seasonal specials and group discounts.
These are usually shown on our website. Alternately, you can chat online with one of our training associates and they can share our current deals.
Keep Growing Your Skills!
Ongoing education is a critical part of becoming a great developer. Even the most knowledgeable person keeps learning every day to keep up to date with the latest technologies, languages, libraries, and frameworks. While books, videos, and online courses can be useful, instructor-led training offers unique opportunities for asking questions, learning about the newest developments in the field, meeting other professionals, and getting guidance tailored to your needs.
In our module we might not cover some overly complex scenarios (and if you face those, drop us a line, as we’re always interested in improving our offerings) but it’s flexible enough to handle all the common cases with aplomb, and it’s so easy to use that you can get started with it immediately.
